Countless stretches of golden sand line the coast of Sri Lanka. Deserted inlets framed by swaying palms, rocky headlands eroded by the Indian Ocean’s waters. From Negombo in the west to Trincomalee in the northeast, the beaches of Sri Lanka are as diverse as the stunning interior landscapes. Towns, villages, and resorts line the coast south of the capital all the way to Galle in the island’s southwestern corner.
Arugam Bay

Kalkudah
You may swim or wade in the water at this mile-long beach in Pasikuda Bay. Due to the reef’s protective effect, the surf is rather mild compared to that of many Sri Lankan beaches. It’s possible to stroll hundreds of yards out into the ocean since the water is so shallow. The sand is pure white and fine-grained, and coconut palms border the shore. The region has just recently become popular with tourists, so there is still lots of undeveloped coastline to uncover.
Mirissa
Mirissa Beach can be reached in a short amount of time from Matara, making it a popular destination for both visitors and residents. The beach is ideal for sunbathing and swimming due to its beautiful surroundings, clean seas, and soft beaches. Muhathuwaram
Located on the eastern shore, approximately a mile from Batticaloa, lies Muhathuwaram Beach. It’s a beautiful, untouched strip of coastline surrounded by sleepy fishing towns. It’s a pleasant alternative to the more crowded beaches in the region and an excellent day excursion from Batticaloa.
Tangalle
The beach of Tangalle may be found to the east of Matara. Compared to the rest of the area, its weather is quite warm, and its beaches and waterways are beautiful. Located on one of Sri Lanka’s biggest bays, Tangalle is a major fishing port in the area because to the bay’s protective reef.
