Minneriya National Park

You will be amazed to observe one of the greatest gatherings of wild Asian elephants in the world on your safari in Minneriya National Park. A safari through the park’s grassland and along its lakes, taking in the park’s stunning vistas, is a humbling experience. The park is home to a wide variety of animals; you may see any of the 24 species of mammals, 170 species of birds, or 25 species of reptiles.

It is possible to see elephants, leopards, sloth bears, spotted deer, sambar deer, wild buffalo, wild pigs, grey langurs, purple-faced leaf monkeys, three types of mongooses, porcupines, and Indian pangolins.

Kaudulla National Park

Gal-Oya National Park

Gal Oya National Park serves as the primary catchment area for Senanayake Samudraya, Sri Lanka’s largest reservoir. Gal Oya is a large elephant reserve with a high concentration of elephants. You may encounter are the Sri Lankan elephant, axis deer, muntjac, water buffalo, Sri Lankan sambar deer, leopard, toque monkeys, and wild boars. In addition to a wide variety of birds, the park is home to a variety of reptiles, including mugger crocodiles and star tortoises.

Bundala National Park

Migratory water birds from all over the world spend the winter at Bundala National Park. There are 197 different bird species living in the national park. In particular, the flamingos that flock here. Bundala National Park, Sri Lanka’s fourth biosphere reserve, was designated by UNESCO as such in 2005. Visit this area to spot animals like elephants, whistling ducks, Indian cormorants, big water birds, grey herons, black-headed ibises, Eurasian spoonbills, Asian openbills, painted storks, Black-necked storks, leopards, and wild boars.

Wasgamuwa National Park

Wasgamuwa National Park, which spans both the Matale and Polonnaruwa Districts of Sri Lanka, is home to a fantastic safari experience.
